It's Wednesday night and tomorrow morning the kids and I will be headed to Rochester, Minnesota, to the Mayo Clinic to see their eye specialists and their oncologist.
The exam by the oncologist is pretty straight-forward...a good overall checkup for both kids and an update on how they have been doing over the past year.
The visit with their eye specialist will be more challenging, especially for Parker. If he can let the doctor get a really good look at his eyes right there in the office, he will not need to be put under anesthesia on Friday. This is a big challenge for Parker but he managed to let the doctor get a good look at last year's appointment so hopefully one more year of maturity will get him through it again this year.
Faith will also have her eyes checked in the office but most likely not as thoroughly as Parker since she will be put under anesthesia on Friday for an eye exam and also an MRI. This is challenging for her but she's also a little trooper and always does whatever needs to be done.
I ask that you pray for my children tomorrow and Friday. Pray for their little hearts to find peace and contentment in something that is difficult for both of them to endure. Pray for them to be able to relax in spite of their fears so that they can be examined thoroughly. Pray for them to breathe in God's presence around them and feel Him in and through them as well as feel Him in the hearts and hands and minds of those that provide their care. Pray for them to have healthy eyes...ones free from tumors and further damage.
Peace and blessings to your day.
Jeanine
