Max is our "baby." At age three, he's the youngest of our two dogs. Not only is he the "baby" physically, he's also just a big "baby" all-around. He loves to snuggle, he refuses to let his nearly 60 pounds deter him from thinking he's a lap dog, he expresses himself vocally, and is just an all-around sweetie. (As is our other dog, Player...but this post is not about Player because he didn't do anything funny this morning.)
Anyway, Max also likes the dishwasher. He leaves it alone when I am emptying the clean dishes, but oh.my.goodness. does he ever like the dishwasher when the dishes going in are dirty. Lick, lick...lick, lick, lick! My attempts at shooing him away are all in vain. Until this morning when he learned a hard lesson.
He was lick, lick, licking again when he got his collar stuck on the lower rack of the dishwasher. He attempted to step back and felt the resistance of the rack. He panicked and jolted away from the dishwasher with the bottom rack stuck to his collar. He drug it clear from the kitchen into the dinette with dishes, utensils...whatever was in that bottom rack...banging, clanging and breaking! Not to mention me yelling, "MAX! MAX! MAXIE, honey...STOP!!!!!" and chasing after him trying to catch the dishwasher rack!
Scott works from home on Fridays and ran to the kitchen from his office saying (and pardon the quote), "WHAT THE HELL?!" Faith was certainly startled by the whole thing, too. And me? I did what I usually do in these circumstances...I burst into laughter!
And Max? Poor baby, Maxie! He had the "bee-jeebers" scared out of him! When we all snuggled him up to comfort him, his heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest.
That'll teach him not to stick his head in the dishwasher!
Anything funny happen to you this week? If so, I'd love to hear about it!
Peace, blessings and laughter to your Friday!
Jeanine

OH MY GOODNESS! That must have given the poor guy the scare of a lifetime...! It will be interesting to see if he ever licks again. What a way to start your weekend -- a little chaos, a little laughter... right up my alley!
