FRIDAY AFTERNOON

Okay...so here's the latest. My mom and I both got here waaaaaaaay before the doctor came in my dad's room to see him. He said everything is pointing to the chrone's disease. They are going to be switching my dad's medication in hopes that it will be able to control the inflamation in the bowel, which is what is causing the obstruction of the bowel. The will disconnect the tube pumping the fluid from his stomach in hopes that his stomach will not bloat back up again. If he doesn't bloat, then he can start eating. If he does bloat, then they reconnect the tube and start pumping again. He will most likley be here through the weekend and it sounds likely that he'll still be here Monday. Dad didn't like that, but hey...it is what it is and he knows that. As long as he has the daily newspaper and the news, he'll be okay. I suppose a nice little snooze here and there won't be too difficult to handle, either.

I didn't see my dad yesterday, but when mom saw him this morning she said he looks much, much better than he did yesterday and last night. So, that's one step in a positive direction. One step, one day at a time.
