Faith has a birthday party starting at noon for our next door neighbor boy who is turning six. They are going to Chuck-E-Cheese's and so is so very, VERY excited! She has reminded me several, several times that, "Mom...remember...you're NOT going. It's just ME!" Ahhhh...such an independent one, our little Faith Marie!
We also have our annual family party for my mom's side of the family out at my brother's hobby farm, just a few miles outside of our town. We always have so much fun. We see aunts, uncles, cousins and their spouses, the cousin's kids and now, the cousin's kid's kids. Did you get all that? The kids get to ride horses, play around the farm, the big kids take the golf cart out to explore, there's usually a hayride when my brother's pull a hay wagon with the tractor and we drive around the area...and lots and LOTS of food! There is usually a new baby in attendance or at least one on the way that we look forward to seeing at the next gathering. I was asked last night by my brother to be the official photographer for the day. A couple of years ago I put together a photo book that captured that year's event. My brother would like me to do the same again this year. It's a project that I look forward to doing. The last two years we have taken a group photo next to the barn. Below is last year's photo. Keep in mind, this is only a portion of the family...probably about half. There are always several who are not able to attend.

Anyway, that's our fun weekend. It's over-scheduled...which is not how we typically do our weekends...but sometimes, especially when it's all fun stuff...it just needs to be done!
